Under administrative direction, the purpose of this contract position is to provide moderately complex administrative support to an assigned work unit in the Juvenile Assessment Center. Contract employees perform both routine and non-routine administrative support duties as dictated by the nature of the work unit, and with a level of accountability commensurate with that of a Lieutenant or civilian equivalent. Position performs a broad array of moderately complex administrative support functions and/or specialized duties including generating correspondence, memos, agendas, minutes, requisitions, ordinances, reports, miscellaneous forms, and manuals; and compiling, preparing, and distributing daily/weekly/monthly/annual reports, invoices, and other relevant materials appropriate to assigned unit. Performs related work as directed. Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

SPECIFICS
This is a one year, grant funded employment contract position. Continued employment is contingent upon the continued receipt of adequate grant funding. Selected candidates will be contract employees with the terms and conditions of such employment set forth in a contract between BSO and the selected candidates. Contract employees will not be entitled to the same rights and benefits as permanent employees. BSO shall have the right to modify pay or benefits at any time due to the increased benefit costs, budgetary or grant funding reductions or other fiscal problems/restraints. In addition, the contract can be terminated at any time for any reason.
1. High school diploma or equivalent. An evaluation of foreign high school diploma may be required.
2. Two (2) years progressively responsible experience and/or training in administrative support functions to include receiving, reviewing, preparing, and distributing correspondence, memos and reports; record keeping; requisitions; typing; filing; and customer service responsibilities.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel required. Such experience should be clearly stated in the initial application.
4. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
