Under administrative direction, the purpose of this position is to perform advanced development, support, and upgrades within the Information Technology Division of the Broward Sheriff's Office. Performs related work as directed. Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).

VACANCIES CURRENTLY EXIST IN THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT GROUP AND THE PEOPLESOFT DEVELOPMENT GROUP. PLEASE REFER TO THE APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH AREA.
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field.
2. Software Development Group:
* Three (3) years progressively responsible experience in complex application programming and analysis utilizing a variety of current programming languages, to include experience in .Net programming, all MS Office products, Crystal Reporting, SQL tools, MS reporting services ,SQL and Oracle databases, JQuery/JavaScript, .Net MVC, HTML CSS, and LINQ/Entity Framework.
* Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle is required.
OR
3. PeopleSoft Development Group:
* Three (3) years in a PeopleSoft Developer role and/or System Administration, progressively responsible experience in complex technical application support and upgrade for PeopleSoft HRMS/Financial Systems.
* Possess technical knowledge in PeopleSoft 8.9 or greater (other versions may be considered), PeopleTools 8.50 or greater, COBOL, PeopleCode, SQL, Integration Broker, Enterprise Portal, Application Designer, Application Engine, Change Assistant, SQR, XML Publisher, Crystal Reports, nVision, PS Query, HTML, Change Management, Security, Employee Self Service, Workflow, Human Resources, Payroll for North America, Time & Labor, Benefits Administration, and all MS Office products.
* Possess some knowledge in Enterprise Portal Administrator, Application Server, Web Server, Process Scheduler, Performance Tuning, Load Balancing, and Server Load/Stress Testing.
* Possess work experience in Unix/Linux and Windows Servers, as well as Oracle RDBMS.
* Familiarity with the PeopleSoft Development cycle is required.
4. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for noted requirements. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
