Under administrative direction, the purpose of this position is to perform requisition, receipt, collection, maintenance, delivery and inventory of property and supplies as retained by the unit. Employees in this classification perform records maintenance and manual work in the storing, shelving, and distribution of materials, supplies, and other inventoried items. Position is responsible for pickup, delivery, transfer, receipt, and inventorying of supplies and goods as required for the efficient operation of the unit. Performs related work as directed. Tasks involve the intermittent performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Position may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavier objects. Tasks are performed in a warehouse environment where proper provisions are in place in terms of employee security and protection. Due to the nature and location of the work environment, tasks include potential for intermittent exposure to disagreeable elements consistent with routine conditions in a warehouse environment.
1. High school diploma or equivalent. An evaluation of foreign high school diploma may be required.
2. One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving inventory and warehouse functions.
3. All candidates must possess and maintain throughout employment, a valid Florida driver license without any restrictions affecting job performance. Driver license must show current address. All candidates must submit with the application, a Certified Department of Motor Vehicles “entire” driving history for every state in which a driver license was held within the last 7 years. The search date must be within one month of the date the application is received in Human Resources.
4. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
