Under direction, the purpose of the position is to supervise operations within a large-scale warehouse consisting of uniforms, equipment and supplies for the Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services. Supervises personnel engaged in the receipt, transfer, storage and distribution of uniforms, equipment and supplies for the operation of Fire Rescue and Emergency Service facilities. Provides timely reports to management of inventory usage and trends. Ensures warehouse and/or storage facilities adhere to quality and safety standards. Work involves the exercise of considerable independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments. Work is reviewed by a Fire Rescue Officer or designee assigned to Logistics who reviews work for conformity with agency policies and procedures and for the efficient operation of warehouse and storage facilities. Performs related work as directed. Tasks are performed in a warehouse environment and include the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds) to moderate weight (11-20 pounds). Some tasks may include working around moving parts, light motor equipment, cards and material handling.
1. High school diploma or equivalent. An evaluation of foreign high school diploma may be required.
2. A minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible lead worker or supervisory experience in tangible property, automated inventory and warehousing functions for a large scale organization. Such experience must be clearly stated in the initial application.
3. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for noted requirements. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
